States Rights
My core philosophy about government can be summed up by reading the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution:
Amendment 10 - Powers of the States and People. Ratified 12/15/1791. US Constitution
"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
The powers of the Federal government were intended to be very limited. The states refused to ratify our constitution until after the Bill of Rights were included. The 10th Amendment reflected the States, and the people’s fear of a too-powerful central government. History has proven that their fear was well founded. We, the people, have allowed our government to grow like a cancer. It now invades every aspect of our lives. If we don’t seize control and shrink that cancer, the country will die.
It’s time to get back to operating under the Constitution. It’s time to re-establish the power of States to deal with State issues. It’s time for a New Revolution!
